We all woke up at 5 am to get ready to depart and go our separate ways. Randy and Rose jumped on a plane to go back to Arizona. Denny and I got on a beautiful two story bus to go to Guatemala (above photo). You'll have to be patient with the photos and video as I get use to the new equipment. The bus was amazing! We had the seats right above the driver, leather, a lot of leg room, we were shown two movies, breakfast (pancakes) snacks, coffee & juice. Never been on a bus like this before, it was very enjoyable!
The photo below is at the border crossing from El Salvador to Guatemala. It took about 10 minutes and went very smoothly.
Now we are in Guatemala!
Here is a short video of our bus trip.
When we got off the bus, we took a cab to another bus station so we could go to Quetzaltenango which is about a 5 hour ride. But as it turns out, they don't go there on Saturdays. So we got a hotel room at the Holiday Inn. We have tickets to go to Quetzaltenango on Sunday morning. Right outside the hotel was a little boy, I'd say 7 years old, was sitting on a box ready to shine shoes.
After ten years of planning a trip around the world, we have given up our life on land to head to bluer pastures with the hopes of staying young as long as possible. Our mission is to have fun while moving about the earth. [...]When we finally return to dry land for good, we hope to have seen most of the worlds shore line and experienced things that can only be experienced at 5 knots Of course if we find a place we like and stay there for an extended time, that's ok too.
We have two boys and two grandson's and several friends and family of all ages. Our hope is that those we know will decide to spend some time with us. Life is enjoyed most when you share it with those your closest to.
