The above photo is our host family, they are so nice. Laura is a very good cook! I'm afraid I won't be loosing any weight eating what she cooks, it is delicious! She works very hard and keeps a very clean and tidy home. Always ready to please. Although she does not speak English, we are getting along very well.
Our first day, Gustavo walked us to the school. It took less than 15 minutes. My teacher (not George Clooney, but a very sweet gal) is very good as I had a huge headache after 5 hours! There are four teachers and four students. We all took a walk around town. They showed us the Mall, Central Plaza, Central Park, the Cathedral, and the Municipal, it was exhausting but worth it. I wish I brought our camera. No one here speaks English, which is a bit hard. Everyone is friendly and smiles at us and tries to help. We are at an internet cafe and it took us 20 minutes to get across to the gal we needed the internet password. It is right next store to where we live, so it will be very convenient. Also right next store to us is a laundry mat. The cost of things is about the same as in El Salvador, although we are trying to get use to the different money. The weather here is cold in the morning (65 degrees) in the afternoon (75 degrees) so far it has rained an hour each day which makes the air smell so clean and fresh. We are in the mountain area, so there are many trees around us and we can see a volcano from town.
After ten years of planning a trip around the world, we have given up our life on land to head to bluer pastures with the hopes of staying young as long as possible. Our mission is to have fun while moving about the earth. [...]When we finally return to dry land for good, we hope to have seen most of the worlds shore line and experienced things that can only be experienced at 5 knots Of course if we find a place we like and stay there for an extended time, that's ok too.
We have two boys and two grandson's and several friends and family of all ages. Our hope is that those we know will decide to spend some time with us. Life is enjoyed most when you share it with those your closest to.
