Check in
30 October 2011 | Kuna House anchorage in Kuna YaLa, Panama
Denny/85 degrees, cloudy, no rain
We worked our way threw our first real coral maze, Nine waypoints on the GPS to travel less than a mile. The afternoon winds came and while we can see white caps a few hundred feet to windward we are sitting in flat water. Our plan was to hang out here until Monday then go back to Porvenir to check in. Around 4 pm a boat came up to us with the Port Captain, Immigration, and the Kuna YaLa (San Blas) Island permit man. They looked at all our papers and collected $24. We were then issued a Kuna YaLa cruising permit good for one month. At your boat service to check in and out of the country, now that's convenient. We now have three permits in Panama, One for the boat good for a year, one for us (people) good for six months in Panama and one for the boat and us good for one month in the Kuna YaLa Islands. With no need to go back to Porvenir we will start heading closer to Corazon de Jesus so we can pick up friends from the airport Friday. I hope they like warm clear water, white sandy beaches and coral reefs to snorkel because that's all there is here.
