Becky/87 degrees, sunny
A few days ago we placed an order from a guy named Mark. He is from the US and has 50 ft. monohaul that he charters. Mark takes grocery orders from cruisers by sending him an e-mail list of what you want and how much. When he went shopping for us he went to three stores: Reys, Ariba Smith and Pricemart. For our West Coast friends that is like Fred Meyer, Safeway and Costco. Our list list was complete with receipts from each store. Last night, Mark came to our anchorage and we went in our dinghy and picked up our list. We watched what other cruisers ordered and now I have a better idea for our next one. He will buy cold stuff along with any can food, alcohol, diesel and gas. He added a 30% service/delivery fee. Given our location, this was a great deal for us. The cost if we were to go to Panama City ourselves for a full day would have been $150, plus you have taxi fees and then you always buy extra. We were worried about what little cash we have on the boat, but Mark excepts Paypal and Bill Pay, so no worries there. Having this service and then Heraldo (local vegetable Kuna guy) we are set to be here a very long time!
It is a beautiful sunny day today. The kite boarders our out, I see waves breaking from the reefs all around me, the air is warm (87 degrees), water is clear and warm (85 degrees) and the best part is there are no BUGS! This truly is Paradise!
Life is great on Kokomo!
