SSB maintenance

SSB, The single side band radio we use to send and receive e-mail and put out the blog has gotten very slow only letting us send the blog out at night. Today I retraced all the wires and ground copper and found the that the antenna wire was very corroded. I had a psair wire as on of the requirements for the race to Hawaii we did in 2008 was to have a back up SSB antenna wire. After rerunning the wire and cleaning all my ground connections the radio is working again like it did when we installed it. I guess the routine maintenance extends to every part of the boat. And you wonder what we do all day. After I send this we will head out on todays adventure. I think it has to do with water.
