We took the dinghy and spent 3 hours driving around the bay looking at houses of the Columbian rich. I'm sure most these people made their money selling Emeralds or coffee. On the beach right next to the boat is one of the houses of Pablo Escobar. It is being turned into a hotel. They charge $20 for a chair to sit on the beach. We went to the Bar that's built in the water we passed on our way in and bought beers on the beach. They asked for 5000 pesos for a beer and I talked them down to 4000. ($2 instead of $2.50) when the beers came they were only 7 oz. bottles. I complained and he told me the 12 oz cost 5000 pesos. O-well, we enjoyed or beer and talked to a beach vender that sold Becky a necklace. This time Becky did the negotiating and she had the vender include 12 oz beers in the price. She is so smart. On our way back to the boat we saw a woman on a small island with one house on it. I asked if she would show us her house and she agreed. Turns out you can rent the house. The island was the size of the typical American yard. The house had beds for 11 guests and the price is $545 US per week, looked like a good deal to me. Of coarse we are anchored right next to the island for free.
