New Friends
04 November 2012 | San Blas - West Lemons
Becky/83 degrees, thunder, lightening & rain in the evening, sunny in the day
We went to Dog Island and snorkeled the ship wreck where it was a beautiful sunny and calm day, perfect for snorkeling. It was Panama's Independence Day and the island was very busy! I can never snorkel enough at the ship wreck. I am always amazed at the bright color of coral and how friendly the reef fish are. After lunch, the group snorkeled another reef in the East Lemons, then we moved on to the West Lemons. We had a great sail with winds up to 20 knots. Jane did all of the driving, she did a great job and was a natural! Our windless just broke, so we have to move the anchor by hand, so we found 10 feet of water and lowered it down. We all headed to the bar for cocktails where we found our other cruiser Canadian friend - John. After many rounds, we went back to the boat for dinner and asked John to join us. Good food and conversations, the women decided to cool down and we went skinny dipping. The current was very strong, but we had a line to hold onto and it was very refreshing - great idea Chrissy!
This morning we said good-bye to our new best friends! What a joy they were to have onboard! Always smiling, always willing to help, always easy going - what more could you ask for with guests? Thanks again, we miss you already and are always welcome on Kokomo! Stay safe this winter in the mountains!
We will be in the West Lemons for a few days. Denny needs to work on and order new parts that broke - windless & alternator belt. I guess we won't be leaving here anytime soon.
Life is good (but lonely) on Kokomo!
