Tall Ships
06 August 2013 | Stonington., Maine
Denny/70 degrees, sunny with a chill in the air
After a good day on the water we anchored in Stonington Maine. This was the second Stonington we have visited in the past 3 weeks. While enjoying the view 4 tall ships under full sail came right by our boat. The wind was blowing around 10 knots and all four boats looked so graceful as they silently slipped by. We wondered if canons would fire if one of the ships got the weathers edge.
We went to town for a few hours and when we returned the tide had come up and our dinghy was pinned under a rock. The back corner was under the water. If we had waited any longer to return the outboard would have been under also. We were lucky to get it out from under the rock ledge before any real damage could be done. I wish we had a way to post photos but our internet conection wont work in Maine.
While having a beer in a local bar we noticed a sign placed above the door. (No Smoking until after 10pm) I guess none smoker have gone home by then. or as my dad used to say you need to be home by ten as nothing good happens after that.
Life is good on Kokomo
