We blew it, we missed the warm weather window. Now it is soooo coooold! But we really couldn’t avoid it. We made a commitment to finish the boat show, then we committed to finishing the canvas work we started. Since we have the opportunity to spread out and sew at Denny’s brother’s home, we finished up the dodger and made a new stack pack for the main sail. The rest of the canvas projects we can work on the boat.
We are now back on the boat. Denny put the new bimini, dodger and stack pack on. It looks great and it all fits! Denny did a great job engineering it just right. He changed the design on the stack pack and it looks so much better.
We really needed a new bimini, the other one was 20 years old and it leaked.
The dodger was about 10 years old and the stitching was disintegrating. We bucked up and purchased the expensive UV protection thread. This thread is 100% guaranteed. On the right is the life raft cover that needs to be replaced, it is amazing how much damage the sun does.
The stack pack was about 5 years old and falling apart. Denny wanted this new one much smaller and it does look better than the first one.
Now Denny is on day 2 working hard all day installing our new Auto Pilot. He estimates being about half done. Fortunately for us, Michael let us keep the car for a few more days. Denny has been running to West Marine and Fossets for parts.
He has the most of the boat torn apart. Spreading out all that needs to be installed.
Reading all the directions.
Life is good on Kokomo.
