We left Key West in the morning and had one over night trip to get to Punta Gorda. We sailed most of the night and motored in the morning into the harbor.
We are so excited to be here! This is what our cruiser guide says about the area:
Punta Gorda is a charming boating community made up of 60 miles of canals that meander through its neighborhoods and lead to Charlotte Harbor. The city has a historic district with 1576 significant historical residential and commercial structures along its brick lined streets. Its designation as a Florida Main Street Community, together with a revitalization that has been going strong since Hurricane Charley in 2004, has resulted in many new or renovated amenities now available to boaters. Along the Punta Gorda coastline of Charlotte Harbor is the harbor walk, a scenic pedestrian and bicycle friendly river walk lined with palm trees, brick pavers and park amenities.
This is an aerial view of Punta Gorda. It's like a maze!
This is the spot where Kokomo will be for at least 2 months - Thanks Jim & Connie for getting us this space!
Life is good on Kokomo!
