We said "good-bye" to Bev & Lew on Suzanne. We have been traveling with them for over a month, since the Bahamas. We have enjoyed their company very much and we will miss them! They will be staying in Salinas a few more days. We left in the morning at 5 am. Denny wanted a few hours of no wind and sure enough around 7:30 it started to blow hard on our nose. We are moving east and the wind is coming from the east, so this is what we will have to deal with for the next couple weeks. We went 20 miles and anchored before noon in a nice protected anchorage. We will leave earlier tomorrow morning as we have to go 40 miles. Sailing along the coast of Puerto Rico is just beautiful. The hillside is all lush green with some spots of homes here and there.
While here we watched a triathlon. They had red bouys out for the swimmers, police cars for the bicycles and a guy on a microphone encouraging the runners. It has been quite an afternoon full of music and entertainment.
After a nice evening swim to cool down, we enjoyed some cocktails, appetizers and dinner along with a movies.
Life is good on Kokomo
