Another beautiful quiet island. Anse du Colombier was originally owned by the Rockefellers, who built a house on top of the hill. It is a secluded bay that has steep hills. The village of Colombier peeks down from way up at the top. The bay has a perfect beach, backed by many palm trees. There is no road access and the only way to get here is by boat. This is now a marine park with mooring balls, because of this there are many grass beds, attracting feeding turtles. I can watch turtles all day. We snorkeled from the boat and swam around for over two hours. Much of the snorkeling is of rock with some coral and a lot of grass. We saw brightly colored reef fish, angelfish, parrotfish, bigeyes and jacks. We also saw many starfish, rays and turtles. The two turtles we saw were eating grass. We also saw several goats, I think they took the goats from Ile Fourchue to here. Denny has picked another great spot that I love!
After ten years of planning a trip around the world, we have given up our life on land to head to bluer pastures with the hopes of staying young as long as possible. Our mission is to have fun while moving about the earth. [...]When we finally return to dry land for good, we hope to have seen most of the worlds shore line and experienced things that can only be experienced at 5 knots Of course if we find a place we like and stay there for an extended time, that's ok too.
We have two boys and two grandson's and several friends and family of all ages. Our hope is that those we know will decide to spend some time with us. Life is enjoyed most when you share it with those your closest to.
