Thunder and Sheets of Rain
14 August 2014 | Portobelo, Panama
Becky/83 degrees, clouds and rain
While we were in Shelter Bay, we took the free shuttle to Colon. They dropped us off right in front of Reys grocery store. Here we bought all that we needed. It is a very nice store. Denny also got a Panama phone, so if you need to contact us, send us an email and we will give you the cell number.
During this time of year (August and September) it is the rainy season. The last couple of days it has poured for about a half and hour each day, then clears up the rest of the day. While we were in the grocery store, it poured sheets of rain with much thunder and lightening. I was glad we were inside. After stowing our grocery items on the boat, we headed back to Portobelo (a four hour trip). When we returned, we headed to Captain Jacks for a beer. We learned during the earlier thunder storm the wind blew 40 knots in Portobelo. Again, I was glad at the time we were tucked away in the safe Shelter Bay marina! We will stay in Portobelo for a few days, then head back to the San Blas.
Life is good on Kokomo!
