Well, safe to say that Life is good on Kokomo! Today's pickup for our land based river hike/swim trip arrived 30 min early, so Scott, Chrissy and Denny quickly consumed the rest of our breakfast in haste and jumped in our guide Lisa's long dugout canoe (with outboard motor). Chased by a looming black thunder storm, we landed and began our hike, gaining moderate elevation through the lush, thick jungle. Soon enough the storm unloaded on us, which was actually very refreshing as we sloshed along the wet trail. An hour or so later we arrived at the neatest water fall with a natural pool for diving and jumping. So refreshing to enjoy some non-salted water!
Then to complete our loop, we walked, swam and slid down the river before connecting to the trail system again.
It was also pretty amazing to see the local red ant program...when does work start? Is there room for growth in the ant world? These cool little critters are on a mission for their queen but don't stop to observe them for too long, or you WILL feel their rath!
You can see them on the branch carrying the leaves
Then we arrived back to the boat for some snorkeling off the island of Salurdup and then floating on noodles in the extra calm waters for another relaxing happy hour.
We're so lucky to enjoy this typical, tropical weather paradise (again) with our awesome hosts and to enjoy such great food, drinks, laughs and activities. With our evening games aided by the cool ocean breeze, we still have a week or so to conquer our captain's worldly domination in sequence, dominos and dice!
Hi to our families including Jenn, Don, Jane, Jason, Kim, Jocelyn, Bailey, Spencer, Palmer and Rose.
Life is Good on Kokomo, eh?
Scott and Chrissy
PS Their life is better than your vacation!
