There are some "swell" places

25 March 2009 | Monument Anchorage, Elizabeth Harbor Great Exuma
80 degrees, windy (21-25 knots) Mostly sunny
Wednesday, March 25, 2009

It's another windy, wavy day today. On a brighter note though, while continually checking to make sure we're not dragging anchor, we are not in the 7-10 foot swells that are on the windward side of the island in Exuma Sound. The winds today are howling louder than yesterday and we're swinging about. There are white caps on the sheltered side, where we are, so I'm guessing that we're not going over to Georgetown today for fuel, water, garbage and shopping. Mom's bakery comes to town on Wednesdays and Fridays so no coconut bread from her today... It gets rave reviews from all the cruisers so I was looking forward to trying it but will settle for making some beer bread instead. I finished the Kay Scarpetta book I started yesterday and went to start another only to find I'm missing two in between (hate when that happens) so put it down. I was going to start the John Grisham ones and wait for a book swap to see if I could get the missing Scarpetta books, and then changed my mind. I'd already been hooked into this one.

Toby from Dutchess came by to say hi. He also has a Bayfield 36 called Caribe but is currently on the Trawler Dutchess. It's always nice to meet a fellow Bayfielder. After chatting with him and reading some, I decided to make some beer bread for dinner tonight and swept up the boat.

I made a chicken salad and bread for dinner tonight. I can't believe how many salad dressings I brought on this trip. I guess I had ideas of grandeur on how many salads we were going to be having on this trip. From what I've heard, this has been the coldest weather they've had in a decade down here (Florida too I could probably surmise). Its been nice as far as I can determine though - I'm used to freezing temps and this perpetually June weather has been nice. I like 60s and 70s with sometimes 80s. After leaving the snow in Florida and heading down here its been - Perpetually June.
