Back in Georgetown
28 February 2014 | Sand Dollar Beach, Elizabeth Harbor, Exuma
Sunny, Front Approaching, SW 20
So much for waiting for good sailing weather to return Georgetown, we decided to motor sail back and not spend another rolling night. Chris Parker forecasted winds SW 10. Well, we lifted the dinghy and secured it. Then we made our way around the reefs at Calabash leaving from the southern part of the anchorage to give us a better angle. The winds were a bit stronger, 20 knots out of the SW. Our plan now was to be close hauled and once we made it into the lee of Great Exuma we could short tack and make our way along the coastline into Georgetown. By the afternoon the winds switched to the north and we were now in protected waters, with no roll! Ah!!!
