Nikki is on her way back to VT

06 March 2012 | Las Olas Marina - Ft Lauderdale, FL
Randy - VERY breezy, T-storms looming
We moved on Monday from Lake Sylvia to a slip at the Las Olas Marina for several reasons: we needed water, need to reprovision food stores, lots of laundry to do, and Nikki needed to get to the airport. I rarely go to a marina because it is very expensive, but when all of these things need tending to, it just makes life a lot easier. Unfortunately, this slip is right next to the draw bridge and it is loud every time a car crosses the steel grate of the center span. lots of that during the day but not so much after about 2200. The picture today is of Kristinly taken from the bridge next door. There are also many new pics in the photo gallery if interested.

Tonight is the last of the two nights of this and I will be moving north. Got Nikki to the airport and she is in the air as I write this, en route to VT via Newark and does not get home until nearly midnight. We love our time together and this was an extremely fast 10 days. I have decided to only take the boat as far as Virginia. I want to get back to VT so I can get on with the launch of the new business. In addition, there is a fair chance it will be cold in the Chesapeake by the time I get there, and almost guaranteed it will be cold north of there. If we have a lull in the business this summer, we will return and sail her back to Lake Champlain. I will have the boat hauled out while in VA.
