We slept in a bit this morning and departed around 0800 in fog. As we passed the north naval piers and Fort Monroe near the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay, the fog went VERY thick and a huge container ship came out of a fog bank like a ghost ship. After seeing that, radar or no radar, I chose to divert here at 1200 to wait out the fog. As it turns out, it looks like we will stay here until tomorrow. Unfortunately, the forecast for tomorrow is a high around 60 and north winds around 20-30 kts. If that really happens, we may be here until Tuesday. We'll see ...
