Waiting out the weather

26 March 2012 | Hampton, VA
Randy - cool, rainy, N winds 20-30, gusting to 40 kts
The weather forecast lived up to it's billing and the winds freshened out of the north, to the point that there was no way I was interested in hammering through big waves on the nose for an entire day. So instead of doing that, we made a short trip and picked up a slip at the Hampton town piers to wait out the wind and also plug into shore power so we had heat. We were clearly heading into more northern latitudes and the temps are falling, particularly at night.

We took advantage of a cheap car rental and did some running around to do laundry and pick up a few groceries. I am glad we waited as the winds were very strong and it would not have been any fun.
