Savannah, GA – the next couple of weeks …

Randy
You probably won't hear much from me over the next couple of weeks. I am spending a week here and doubt there will be much to write about. I also have a bent propeller shaft (on the boat!) and the marina is going to haul the boat out to fix it. You may remember I had a stupid attack back in Key West and caught the mooring line in the prop one day when Jenni and Kristin were there. I was able to replace the prop myself, but noticed a very slight vibration at higher rpm's and checked it out and can see the shaft has an almost imperceptible wobble when rotating. But it's there and it's not running straight and true like it should be. Not a problem when you are sailing, but this can only get worse when I have to motor, so I need to get it fixed. While they have the boat out of the water, I am going to head back to VT next Thursday before the Memorial Day weekend and will return to Savannah the following Tuesday. I will leave for Charleston the next day.

It is a bit stormy here today so I took advantage of the downtime to give the boat a really good cleaning. This was the first time since I left NC in January that I have had access to water so I could clean all of the salt off. Also, it is amazing to me how dirty a boat can get when surrounded by nothing but water. Go figure ...
