Nikki returned to VT on the 4th. Parting like this is never easy, and we are both anxious for her return to Kristinly on 21 Feb in the Bahamas. Until then, I am working my way south to a good place to prepare to jump across to the Bahamas, probably by the end of January. My Uncle David and Aunt Sandy from Browns Valley, CA, along with their friends Jim and Lynn were in FL for the New Year and met me on the 4th for a quick day sail. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. Uncle Dave (aka uncle Animal - ask if you want to know more) stayed on with me and will be aboard until the 14th, when he flies back to CA from Ft. Lauderdale.
Before Nikki and I arrived in St. Augustine on the 1st, we spent the night on the hook in Dehroche Creek, FL N30° 51.579', W81° 30.146' which was a very narrow creek requiring a Bahamian set of two anchors. Fair holding, with some fishing boat traffic in the morning. We anchored in St. Augustine at N29° 53.781' W81° 14.464' after running aground lightly when I got to close to the seawall. Oh well ...
