After picking up Dan and Kristin, we stayed put through the 31st due to high easterly winds. It turned out to be a great time, as we gathered with new friends on the beach several nights for fun, food, and music. Dan and Kristin had a great time, particularly the first night of that (maybe too much for Kristin, as she was LIT!). Dan actually got to play guitar on one borrowed from one of the guys (there were 5 at one point), and it was all good. Departing was actually rather difficult when saying goodbye to our new friends, particularly Gary and Celeste (Sol Surfin') and Richard and Nicki (Hello Texas). Lots of emotion all the way around. We are hoping to run into them again, perhaps on Eleuthera Island in the next couple of weeks, but realistically, that is not likely to happen. So for now, it is off to sail north to Nassau where we will drop Kristin and Dan off when time for them to return to VT.
Dan spent his birthday here (30th), and actually wound up celebrating it at the beach party the night before. A bit over the top on that one, and it was early to bed the night of his birthday for both he and Kristin. KIDS!
We also went to a dance at Chat n' Chill, the beach bar, the night Dan and Kristin arrived. A great intro to the Bahamas, I think...
