By the way, yesterday's update was about arriving at Cape May, NJ and not Atlantic City. Nikki noticed I noted "Atlantic City" in the yesterday's subject line. Guess I was thinking ahead to making my fortune here tonight!
Anyway, we departed Cape May at 0700 today and motored headlong into 10 kts north winds and 2' - 3' seas arriving here at 1330. No big deal, just not as much fun as sailing. We are debating about the next leg, which would take us to either Manasquan or Sandy Hook. Depending upon how late tonight's outing to the casinos lasts; we will either leave tomorrow or Tuesday.
I forgot to mention that we caught the lines of two crab pots yesterday coming down the Delaware Bay, 10 minutes apart. The buoys were black and just under the surface of the water and were set up as ganged together with 2 buoys about 3 feet apart on each set, and the lines broke apart between the two buoys almost immediately and fortunately did not wrap around the prop shaft. After that happened, I moved closer to the major shipping channel (deeper water where there were no traps), but stayed just out of it to avoid the ships and barges.
I need to remember not to come here to Atlantic City during the weekend. Every bozo and his brother is here with a speed boat and flying around the harbor like it's the Garden State Parkway. That's about it ...
