Lady Liv Back in the Water
22 December 2009 | Chaguaramas, Trinidad
Lady Liv left her mooring outside Peakes yard today and headed north towards Prickly Bay, Grenada with Captain Bob at the helm and crew member Paul. Little did they know at this time that they had a near miss with a pirogue carrying several armed bandits who boarded and robbed a fellow yacht at gunpoint. The 80 mile slog up to Grenada from Trinidad passes a gas platform called Hibiscus, which is where the incident occurred. Luckily, although the German yacht was shot at, and much of her equipment was either stolen or smashed by the robbers, the Captain and crew escaped with minor injuries. Sadly these incidents seem to happen often in the area off the Venezuelan coast, and involve yachts sailing in this area. Lady Liv is now ready to begin the winter season of chartering and cruising in the wonderful waters of the Eastern Caribbean.
