Our Highlights of 2010, and time to reflect on a busy and very varied season.
Highlights .. Our guests of course ! A very diverse group this year, over a range of ages and backgrounds. Without a doubt we have had more fun this year, had more willing crew and visited some amazing places. Snorkelling "Jeff's" coral head at Tobago Cays - so named as he started feeding the fish there over 17 years ago, and now they swarm around you when you arrive in the dinghy, looking for crackers. We regularly see squirrel fish, chromis, graysbys, parrot fish, cowfish, tangs & surgeonfish and they happily feed from your hand. Other snorkelling highlights; the magnificent eagle rays at Crazy Corrigans Crooked Passage near PSV, the huge schools of fish swimming around us at Chatham, the octopus(es) and reef squid at Anse la Roche and Chatham so camoflaged, so hard to see ! The sharks that we occasionally see, but which still spark awe (terror??) when you swim close to them, and of course the turtles that allow you to swim with them, all shapes and sizes, awesome ! We also had 100% success rate with our guests snorkelling this year - most were inexperienced and anxious and we can report that all overcame their fears and, under the patience tutelage of the Captain, enjoyed an underwater experience like never before. Our friends at Erikas in Union, and of course covering the daysails at the wonderful Petit St Vincent resort. Sundowners at Happy Island with Janti & Andrea.... Aarons lunchtime pizzas in Bequia.. we could go on ! Oh yes, and the fantastic barracuda fishcakes that found their way onto our menu, when guest Natalie ( a chef at home in the UK) took charge one night and created a sensational dish that was revered by all ! A final highlight - the Captain's newly discovered Lime Daquiri recipe - a wonderful replica of those Daquiris we've all enjoyed at PSV, made by Conrad, Oxford & Utan...
