So it was, after a night of frivolity and oysters ... that Beauty of Petite Martinique took on the mighty Lady Liv in a race to the finish - Prickly Bay Grenada, where both boats would be spending the summer months in Spice Island Marine yard. Jeff's boat, Beauty, a hand built wooden Carriacou sloop, and a few feet longer than Lady Liv, crewed by Jeff and (defector) M, snuck out of Tyrrel Bay a few minutes ahead of Lady Liv, whose crew (Michael) were caught napping whilst Beauty hoisted her sails.... The race was then on ... who would reach Prickly Bay first ??? And the prize ..... dinner at De Big Fish !
Well, it was about half way when the wind dropped a little and Jeff announced to M that he 'should've put the bigger jib on' - too late, Lady Liv saw her chance and romped past Beauty, only to be almost pipped at the post when rounding the point into Prickly Bay when Jeff cut the corner, running very close to the reef.... It was agreed that LL was the winner - just !!
