Blue Lagoon
20 June 2010
We moved slowly down the Yasawas, stopping at a series of pretty anchorages. Although the snorkeling was not a patch on the islands around Taveuni, we did have a large black and yellow sea snake at one anchorage. We saw cruise ships in the distance, but no other yacht until we reached the blue lagoon, famous for two movies of the same name, the first with Brooke Shields. The anchorage here is very protected, and we sat out three days of strong winds here while waiting for Michael's brother, Paul, to arrive on the Yasawa Flyer. Frankly the blue lagoon is not that impressive, although it is quite pretty.
Paul arrived, as expected, although the smaller version of the Flyer that was running that day initially stated it was not coming round to the Blue Lagoon. Luckily it finally did, and all the small boats went rushing out to collect or drop off guests, Michael included. Safely on board we had a good afternoon swimming and snorkeling before getting ready to leave next day.
