Had a mini stroke yesterday and lost consciousness. I thought my stroke problems were over when I retired to Spain. But it seems I am still vulnerable.
This is a problem for my single handed sailing and would not be much fun for crew if I conk out at a critical time.
The Atlantic passage is off and I'm not sure if I am fit enough for making short passages. I need to get my medical condition checked out and then make a decision about my leisure activities in retirement. The thought of not having a boat and going sailing horrifies me, I have been sailing offshore for over 50 years.
So I am leaving the boat at Rabat for a while and going home tomorrow to think this through.
