We are in Manhattan at rocky choppy 79th Street Marina on a mooring ball....Man it will be a long night!

Coming under the bridge heading into the marina we hit 11.9 kts, A push from the tide but still a strong head wind with gust of 21 and an opposing current. I have video that I will post later! How much fun is this he he he!

Hey Kat & Paul - Glad to here you are progressing south bound so well - We're not doing so good yet as we are still stuck in Nova Scotia (Yarmouth) waiting for weather that will allow us to cross the Gulf of Maine then get on south from there. Keep it going safely and wee'll hopefully catch up with you somewhere on the coast. - - Fair Winds my friends.

All part of the journey, I guess?! You've convinced me that I'll need medical travel insurance whenever I get around to heading in your direction. You're both becoming experts in both cruising and the American health care system!

Paul you look way to healthy to be in a hospital bed. Early Hooloween or what?

Good thing you've got a high pain threshhold. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery, and easy trip South. Look forward to meeting up with you down the line.

Torrential rain and Flooding
wet .....LOL
10/02/2010, Catskill

What a day!!!! The plan was to put up the boom and put the sails on today ....Well!

We woke up to torrential rain and flooding, 12 inches of rain hit the mountain and flooded the Catskill, docks were destroyed & floated down the creek along with boats without their Captains! The Heroes at Hop O Nose fetched boats in extreme weather and conditions. My hat goes of to them... Cheers Guys and THANK YOU for keeping us safe and securing out boat. I was blown away by the amount of people in the Catskill; that we had never met; that offered their home to us last night; as it was unsafe for us to stay on the boat...Thank you. The owner put us up in his wonderful 3bdrm apartment and his staff fussed over us. Thank you to all of you and a hug to Tash, Mr. Sunshine & Butterflies, Mike & Shawn. (pic's and details in gallery)
