More To Come

Despite frequent requests for updates, GMDSS and PredictWind stubbornly insist on their original gloomy outlook. A vigorous cold front and associated Low is forming on my direct track to Cape Leeuwin so for better or for worse I'm heading at first South West and now South which hopefully will put L'Eau Commotion out of the worst of the winds in the North West sector. Carried a double reefed main and storm jib through the night and at times felt overpowered but now at 9:30am all is blue and sunny.
Whilst tidying up it became apparent from the rearranged filing system and the fact that the weathercock on the top of the mast had broken in two that the knockdown had most likely put the mast tip under water. The good news is all the navigation lights, including the masthead light, are still working though I think the electronic wind speed and direction indicator with its sensor at the masthead is kaput.
Well nothing for it but to slug it out for the next days or weeks towards the balmy breezes of the South East Trades.
