One of the jobs that needed attention was the foil on the inner forestay which fitting had come apart most likely when I was knocked down with only the storm jib set. This became obvious a few days later and was of increasing concern and played a part in the termination of the attempt. Basically it required four grub screws 6mm dia. x 10mm long and as these were not immediately available here in Albany I phoned Fletch of Boat Harbour Marine in Scarborough who had them in stock and who agreed to pop them in the post.
Except he didn't.
Instead I got a phone call to say as he had installed the system he felt responsible for its operation and so this morning at 7am Fletch arrived with said screws and a bosuns chair under his arm. Two trips up the mast and an hour later the system was back in specs. Now I'm not saying this has created some new sort of record - to wit miles travelled by air 4000 plus miles travelled by road 600 divided by cost of postage ( $1 ) as Fletch had prior commitments in PERTH - but it still makes a bloody good story. What do you reckon?
