Goodbye Crow Eaters, Hello Sandgropers
13 August 2017 | 235 Miles South of Eucla, WA
I have just enjoyed a dish which is a staple of the Brazilian diet - Fescuada. Rice, beans and fish, made with fresh water squeezed drop by precious drop from the great Southern Ocean. I am coming around to the opinion that the "essence", the essential flavour of this sparkling liquid is more metallic than botanic, which bodes well for tropic climes. Another pleasant days sail not quite hard on the wind of around 15 knots with the promise of a quiet night does not quite rid me of the anxiety of the forecast gales and the possibility of further damage to the yacht. Also just on sundown passed Longitude 129E which is the border between South and West Australia. It is now 7pm (UTC+9) Sunday 13th August. As a note to this note if I put anything in the "Date" box this email somehow gets held back in the queue.
