The weather analysis indicated a gradual easing and backing during the day of the fresh to fierce SW squalls and I set my mind to making the best out of these almost following conditions. But of course the necessities of life must come first in the form of breakfast and what better way to start than a freshly fried flying fish sautéed in olive oil and butter; and what to do with the over generous garnish? A quick whip up of a half cup of flour and a little egg powder made a delightful crepe ( to maintain the French connection ) followed by a freshly brewed coffee and then to take in the real world. Pretty fresh still so I just unfurled a couple of turns of the pretty small exposed jib and that had us getting along well considering the boisterous seas. By mid afternoon the jib was fully unfurled and perhaps the spinnaker pole should have been put out but then again it was not. But the breakfast was beaut.
