Another Great Day's Sail
06 October 2017 | 375 Miles East of Cape Aguhlas
8:00pm Friday 6th October 2017 ( UTC+2 ) With a slight increase in the wind I installed one then two reefs in the main in the morning for a glorious days sail close hauled and with only the occasional thump. Yes, the wind speed and direction instrument is still going and was reading 18 to 22 knots throughout the day and again proving helpful for the few small sail adjustments made. A warm sunny day with not a cloud in the sky and now the clear bright almost full moon has continued this feeling of utter contentment. Added to this the gurus at PredictWind have got their heads together and provided me with the perfect forecast to round Cape Aguhlas in the next three days, although they have been known to play pranks on trusting souls like myself.
