Soldiering On
17 December 2017 | 2545 Miles to Cape Horn
6:00pm Sunday 17th December 2017 ( UTC-2 ) A very pleasant day indeed with the mid day temperature a degree or so less and the breeze just that little bit stronger so when a slightly larger swell comes along the sails remain full. Add to that a small veering to the East allowing a course direct to the Horn make up all the ingredients for that sought after commodity, a Soldiers Wind. Whether or not the progress would be greater or less than if a direct line had been followed from the Canaries to The Horn is a moot point, but by carefully consulting the oracles much time is consumed, which I have in abundance and which would otherwise be wasted.
