The Night We Laughed Ourseves to Sleep

by Keith, perfect weather, though I'm still awoken in the middle of the night to turn on the furnace, which was a star, along with the toilet.
It is common that the first night of our many ventures away from home in boats and RVs and otherwise is crazy, to put it mildly. It's often been a long trip, we're all tired, we're all excited to be there finally, and it's a new environment that is often beautiful. The kids often don't get to sleep until way later than the regular bedtime. This trip was no exception. Except that our kids are getting older and they have a good sense of humor and we started laughing last night and that's what I remember as I relaxed to sleep in my cozy dinette bed on the camper, which is comfortable because it is a little bit bigger than my usual bunk on the sailboat, which is itself quite comfortable, listening to Sarah and the kids arguing about who should be quiet first and who'se knee is stuck in somebody's back. Maybe it's that we don't see ennough of the look depicted in this photograph - some moments you just have to be in a little camper at night up in the mountains to experience.
