Spring is here and that means it is time to think about going sailing.
21 March 2014
After almost 6 months since the last trip to Mexico to race and cruise with the Tucson Sailing Club, I ventured out to the sailboat this morning to see how she's doing. Took a slow walk around, climbed aboard, and did a quick survey. The boat is still in in very solid condition, ready to head off again on another adventure on short notice. When I opened the hatch, it felt like an underground cave. Cold inside, but clean and organized, just like I left it. I left my blanket to air-out in the forward cabin when I returned from a week on the ocean last Fall. It lay there, cold and dry. It does not appear any water at all got into the boat over the winter. The sailboat had that familiar feel. It felt good. However, I did compile a list of things that I would like to do in preparation for this summer's voyages. Several of those projects might take some time. Stay tuned.
