LED Lighting
07 June 2014
During our last sailboat adventure to Roosevelt Lake the light fixture above the sink in the vanity stopped working. Turns out for family cruising this is the most important light on the sailboat because it illuminates the porta potty at night. I tried to fix it but it was so corroded there was no way. Naturally, I also broke the fixture as I was trying to fix it. This presented the opportunity to introduce LED lighting into the cabin of our sailboat. I had to drill new holes for the new LED fixtures, of course, but they look modern, nice, and use 10% the battery power of the incandescent lights. I got two of the LED fixtures so I also replaced one of the old incandescent fixtures in the main cabin. That makes three LED lights on the sailboat in three key locations, the third being the mast head/anchor light.
