Oceanside
I arrived on Oceanside in the afternoon. No anchoring allowed, but there was space available at the public dock for the same $30 a night that I paid for a mooring in Avalon. It was nice to be docked. It may literally have been the first time I ever purchased dock space during a cruise. There's a lot to say about being able to step on and off the sailboat easily without a ride in the dinghy and having trash, bathrooms, water, etc., on hand and restaurants a short walk away. That being said, I would always (*) choose a nice anchorage over a dock.
(*) Excepting when with the family, in which case the Oceanside dock would be a preferred stopover.
