Haystack

There's something about passing Haystack rock at the very southern end of San Francisco Bay south of San Carlos, Mexico that makes me feel so adventurous. Going beyond it takes one from safe, familiar cruising grounds to... the beyond. That it is covered in bird poop and has a tiny forest of cactus on one side, probably being fed by the poop, just makes it that much cooler. I haven't been past Haystack since my first cruise in Mexico to Guaymas and back many years ago. Much has happened since then, but some things have come full circle (see post far below).
