by Keith, Nice morning
Well, so much for carelessly arriving, dropping the bags off at the sailboat, and heading off to lunch. Maybe one day, but not the first time, silly. We actually ate lunch in Hermosillo at this historic taco joint, El Chino. Big tacos with wonderful batbaquoa and Cabeza stewed meats and fat bean and cheese quesadillas. Yum. After another hour, we dropped Magdelena off at her mother's nice, cute house in Mirimar, Guaymas, pottied the kids, and took the Dolphinarum road to San Carlos. When we arrived at the sailboat it was a bit dirty from construction nearby, but that washed off pretty easily. Work had been done inside since I left a month ago and there was an accumulation of refuse and additional gear left by the previous owner. Sarah immediately began removing crap from 30 years of prior ownership and we had another bag to throw away even before we started bringing on our stuff. Around this time the kids were getting tired and so were we. Everyone was freaking out periodically, which means somebody at any given time. This initial adjustment appears to be a regular part of every family sailboat adventure so far. I installed four LEDs in the main salan and they lit it well using practiaclly no power. Eventually, we got the boat squared away. It's 5:30 in the morning now and the three of them are fast asleep in the forepeak. Lots more room up.there compared our previous boat. I'm cozy on the port settee. I haven't figure out yet how to make it into a big bed, but it's plenty wide as a single, and surprisingly firm and comfortable after all these years. It was a fine night overall, a bit warm at first, but cool and very pleasant now. I've got the main hatch open because there doesn't seem seem to be bugs out and the sunrise will be coming soon.
