That genuine family cruiser look
10 May 2016 • San Carlos, Mexico
A man came up to me while I was on the boat to ask for my help splicing his anchor line. He said it was obvious we were a full time cruising family and thought I would know. While I do have some thoughts on the subject, I had to clarify we were only there on our sailboat for a long weekend. This is, indeed, a common theme in my yachting life. I go to where the cruisers are and live among them, now in a sailboat that is a legitimate cruising sailboat, but I am not a cruiser. I am a regular guy raising kids with my wife in Tucson Arizona, who sometimes gets to spend some time playing sailboat cruiser. I like it, actually. It works for what we've got going. And, gradually, Oz is coming back to life. It will cruise, but on relatively short trips for the forsee able future.
