Morning At The Lake With RV Friends

I took the Bounder and the dogs up to Apache lake on Friday after work. I've been going there for years with friends from Tucson. Nice people. Good times. Lots of toys, a laid back attitude, and time to enjoy. These guys don't just sit around. They are the sort that always have to be doing something. My favorite part is using the trucks and ropes to get all the RVs out at the end of the weekened. This time I had to tie a rope from the back of my motorhome to a F-250 4/4, which was tied to my friend's motorhome, which was stuck in the sand. We got it out with enough time to enjoy a wonderful fresh pizza dinner outside Forence, Arizona before the sun set.

Killer Hill is what my ex-cousin-in-law Guy calls the neighborhood walk I was taking with the dogs when I came across this little specimen. I don't think it is native to Tucson, but it seems to be thriving. I'm detecting a nature/animals theme in my blog. Nice. Fits with my change of identify of late from trial lawyer to adventurer/naturalist. Maybe its not a change but rather emphasising one over the other. As such, I've got court in the morning and again in the afternoon and then I'm off in the Bounder to lake Rosevelt with Jake and Anne to meet numerous human friends. We have been doing this RV trip as a group for years. All the RVs come together in a three sided square to make a little community in the courtyard. A few more days of litigation next week, and then its May 1 and the next phase begins.

More Deer Outside My House At Boulder Canyon

Sometimes when Anne barks outside, there really is something. We have deer-like creatures that inhabit the neighborhood. They walk past my house in the desert as part of their morning routine. I've posted about them before. We will miss them. It is nearing the end of April. Things are changing in my world and it is bitter sweet.

This picture is taken with my new camera. The old one, which was rather new itself, must have fallen out of my pocket at San Pedro Bay because when I returned to the boat it was gone and was never found. Pity. But this camera is even better and a bit easier to handle, I hope. My companion for that trip has the pictures and is supposed to e-mail them to me. It was a great sailing trip. Big wind. Great weather. Brought Singmeaway back to the USA to prep for her sale. More about that later.

Country Road At Dusk
Keith, Spring
04/06/2008, Pinery Canyon Road

The first night I arrived at the monument I went straight up this dirt road for about 5 miles past the Forest Boundary sign where there are some pretty good camping spots. Not many people drive this road to Portal, Arizona so it is a supremely peaceful and wild forest environment - especially at night. It got really cold that night, but the furnace on the Bounder kept us warm and toasty.
