Repair day?

Cheryl's Notes:

Yesterday we decided to explore the area a little more. We had the golf carts for a 24 hour period, so we had them until late afternoon. We waited for the rain to stop and then headed out. We scooted down to Sullivan Island and the Fort Moultrie National Park. It was very interesting. Fort Moultrie was originally built to defend the coastline and the port of Charleston during the Revolutionary War. The Confederate troops used it as a base to defeat the Union troops that were garrisoned at Fort Sumter during the Civil War. It was then rebuilt and armed with anti-aircraft guns and was used as a Harbor Entrance Control Post during World War II.

On our way back to the boat we made a provision stop at the local grocery store. We then returned and had a true cruisers party on Denali. We started with drinks and chips with salsa, and ended our party with six adults devouring two half gallons of ice cream. For those of you who are not sailors, this is a rare treat. While sailboats have very small freezers (evaporators) built into their refrigeration, they are not cold enough to keep ice cream frozen. We never pass up the chance to have ice cream.

We are hoping that our part arrives and can be installed this afternoon. Denali will be heading out today to proceed down to Charleston. Our plans are pending the repair.

John's Notes:

I just checked with UPS and our part was in Raleigh last night at 5:30. It is scheduled for delivery today but the current status doesn't say that it is "out for delivery." That may mean that it will not be here till tomorrow.

If everything goes well, the three of us, Denali, Blue Blazes, and Leprechaun hope to continue traveling south together. Again, just have to wait and see what happens with the repairs and then the weather.

I've finished my third book in a week. I think it is time to start playing more cribbage. We haven't played much since we left home. The current score is Cheryl 3, John 1. It was worse. Cheryl 3, John 0. I'm making a come back.
