Cheryl's Notes:
We left San Domingo Creek on Friday morning and sailed the Choptank River east to Cambridge. The wind died shortly after leaving the creek and we made slow progress for a couple of hours. We finally gave up and motored the rest of the way into Cambridge harbor. We ended up quayside at the free dock. Bud and Elaine from Diamond Girl helped us with lines. After we were secure, we helped tie off Liberty. Bud and Elaine are contributing editors for Doziers Waterway Guide. We spent an interesting evening talking about all of the places that we need to explore yet.
Saturday morning we walked around the historic downtown area. Again, this has turned out to be another small town that is boarded up and for sale or lease. Three out of four business are closed down. We took a bus with Bud and Elaine out to the Food Lion to do some stocking up. Upon returning to the boat we had lots of activity. Three more boats came in and anchored in the harbor, including our friends Frank and Debby on Denali. We spent our evening chatting and eating snacks at the picnic tables quayside. We all become one big happy family. Tonight was our last night here and was pretty much a repeat of last night. Most of will be parting ways, until we meet again on the water somewhere.
John's Notes:
What do you get when you get 12 cruisers together? Lots of stories and loud talking. What a fun weekend. This will probably be the last we will see of Wes and Deanne and Frank and Debby.
We have now spent almost five months in the Chesapeake over the last two years. We really enjoy this and the great anchorages that we have found. Now we are faced with a serious dilemma. Do we keep the boat up here or return to North Carolina in the fall? Whatever we do, we only have a couple of days to decide. No definite decision yet but we are leaning...................................
