The reef was very healthy and was loaded with a wide variety of soft corals, many we had not seen before.

We swam out to where the reef ended as the slope fell away. Once there, we hfound all kinds of fish.

AS we walked to the beach we passed this hand made fishing trap. Once we were in the water, we swam past one anchored in the reef.

While Muslims dominant the make up of Indonesia, here in eastern Indonesia, they are a small minority. Most here on Alor are Protestants. However, the village we stopped on was a Muslim village and here is its Mosque.

On the way to the beach, we stopped and looking at this historic grave site. Over 4000 skulls are buried here. They were buried during the days when the islanders were head hunters and it was their tradition to bury their victims in one grave site.
