Year 9 Day 79 The Long Swim

Dave/Mostly Sunny
For the next couple of weeks I will be going to the boatyard each weekday to work on Leu Cat and oversee the work the contractors are doing. I just put in a short day (0900 to 1400) because I wish to return to the nice beach and hotel where we are staying and spend time with Mary Margaret. Mary Margaret will also be coming to the boat but that will not be toward the end of the retrofit. She will be cleaning up the messes that I and the contractors will be making inside the boat. Until then, she is on holiday.
She is getting to know the people who are here, along with the owners, Lynn and Mike. In fact, this morning while she was coming out of the water and onto beach after a nice swim, she met Lynn and Mike and a small group of other people. Lynn and Mike lead a group swim around the bay each morning around 1000. They invited her to join them and since she loves to swim so much, she waded back out and joined in.
Mary Margaret told me when I returned that the swimming group is very nice and the swim is at a nice, leisurely pace. In fact, there is a lot of socializing as they swim, float and slowly make their way around the bay. Since tomorrow is Saturday and I will not be going to the boatyard, I have been invited to come on the swim. I am looking forward to it.
Today, I spent my time on Leu Cat cleaning up the expanding foam mess. I have about 95% of the foam removed but the hard part is still in front of me. Not only did the foam spatter all over the walls, ceiling, seats, table and floor of the cockpit, but it also rained on the shade screens that enclose the cockpit and the mosquito screen the covers our entry into the salon. When the foam expanded, it pressed through the netting, making it very difficult to remove. I have visions of spending the next few work days using a solvent and a brush to get the foams off of the screens. Ugh!
I have attached a photo that I took shortly after the big explosion. If you look carefully, you can see that I had cleaned up one of my Crocs. You can also see what the other one looked like spattered with foam. Also note that when the big bang occurred, I had the lazarette cover open to where the generator sits. Thus, it too got foamed.
