The Comforts of Life

09 August 2007 | Miami Beach Marina
As we approach our departure from Miami Beach (144 days to go), we've pretty much got all of our mechanical parts in order. We've ordered our liferaft, which we hope to never have to use, and now we're focusing on creature comforts. We are replacing our satellite TV tracking system and dish, and we reupholstered the seating in the dinette and the settee, as well as the seat for our desk. (We used "Optimal Leather" and it's soft, durable and attractive.) The last thing I'd like to do before we leave is get new cockpit cushions; we really need more comfort for those long days at sea. Now if I could just figure out where to install a jacuzzi, we'd be all set!

Hot and sunny
Hello, everybody! We're getting ready to sail away in six months, so we've set up this site to keep you updated on our progress.

We're working on getting Liahona ready to go. So far we have a new watermaker, a new desk, a new washer/dryer (so decadent!) and a new WiFi/Cell network. Our "permanent" e-mail address will be:

svliahona@hotmail.com

You can always leave us messages here, too. We hope to hear from you!
