This morning, we saw land for the first time since 3 weeks - it was Tobago, Trinidad's sister island. Peter shouted "see there is land over there!". Which is of course very unfortunate for him, since he will now have to pay all drinks tonight.
Another 30 miles to go and we will arrive in Chaguaramas Bay, Trinidad!
This will be our last blog entry for some time. Upon mooring at the customs dock in Chaguaramas Bay, Trinidad, tonight, we will have put behind us:
- 20 days, sunsets, sunrises, and nights full of stars
- 3000 nautical miles (appr 5600km)
- 1200 litres of Diesel
- 1800 litres of sweet water
- 300 litres of bottled mineral water, fruit juices and milk
- 200 kg of food
- 6 bonitos, 3 doradas, 2 wahoos
- Numerous repairs of rudder, autopilot, wind vane, toilets, navigation lights, watermaker, leakages, cupboards
- 1 accident (the Dutch vs the coffee machine 0:1)
- 2 fin whales, 3 turtles, hundreds of dolphins and seagulls, thousands of flying fish, 1 butterfly, 1 US weather buoy
- 180 shifts (of which half during the night)
- Winds from 0 to 7 Bft
- Countless beautiful clouds.
Voila.
Cheers from the whole crew, see you soon!
