this is Mike again. Yesterday the crew of the schooner Liberty went out for breakfast at the Coronet. In the picture is the happy crew, clockwise from left, is me, Tony, Philip, Sharon, Ruthie, Judith, Captain Bill, and Luke. I had a two eggs scrambled with home fries. After breakfast me, Philip, Luke, and Captain Bill went to the boat yard right around the corner from the Coronet. After that we went to the beach on the dinghy. Since the dinghy only holds four people we had to take two loads back and forth to the beach. When we first got to the beach I got to drive the dinghy all by myself. When I was on my way back to the beach the engine shut off and I was drifting towards the rocks and I didn't know what to do because, the current was push me onto the rocks and Philip saw me and was running to help me to get out of the rocks. After that I put more gas in engine and the engine started up and came back to shore safely. After the dinghy incident the people that we met and owns the house front of the beach let me ride one of the dirt bikes and it was the greatest rides I've ever done. I had a great time with the Liberty crew.

Hi, This is Mike again so this week I've been at Greenport,Long Island,New York. We've been been doing charters. And Yesterday we did a pirate sail and it was the funnest time yet in Greenport. And thats what i've doing so far.

this is Mike again. Yesterday we were on our way up to port jeff. We went through the Brooklyn bridge, Manhattan bridge, and Williamsburg bridge. All those bridges I like to call it is bmw and those are the initials of the bridges. We even went through hells gate. After we went through hells gate we Went past la Guardia airport and saw all the planes taking off right in front of us. Even we heard the pilots talking even the plane taking off on the radio. When we got to port jeff we took a shower on the boat. By taking a bucket filled with water and dumping the water on ourselves. The next day the mayor of port jeff came on the boat to check it out. While we were sailing one of the crew members taught me some knots one of them were the reef knot. So thats everything that I've done so far.

Hi,

My name is Mike. I'm the newest crew member of the liberty schooner. I'm staying for the next few weeks probably. So far I've been doing bow watch. On July 4th was my first day on the job and training for the bow watch. This wasn't my first time on the schooner I've been on the boat 2 times before. And also I've been helping with the dock lines and sails. Thats all I've been doing on the schooner so far

This was me on the boat infront of the statue of liberty. I was so amazed at the sight of the statue! I have to admit I looked pretty good:)

Leaders for Life! We had a great sail yesterday with kids from PS-369 PS-369 - Young Leaders Elementary School in the Bronx. For many of these kids, it was the first time they had been on a boat, and seen the Statue of Liberty first hand.

First Mate Spencer, and crew member Judith did a great job, getting the kids organized, and participating in raising sails, tacking, and taking the helm.
